Helloooo all my lovely readers!
We are well underway with the summer blog showcase and I hope you’re enjoying it as much as I am! Today’s submission was a poem from the lovely Lili. Thanks so much for submitting it Lili and I hope you all enjoy reading it. If you want, you can check out Lili’s blog here.
The summer finally comes
May brought her grey,
June brought her some gloom,
Yet, July finally arrived,
When I saw a ray of sunshine bounce in my room!
I’m happy the rains are over with,
I no more have to curl under my blanket underneath.
Summer, the cold pools and the pretty sea,
Such a gentle and fragile serenity…
The sun rays, from the golden sun,
Make my cheeks blush and to those all who come,
The rhythm of the waves,
Feels like it says,
“I’m here now, enjoy me,”
“Don’t you feel so free?”
“Yes,” I reply as if I thank the waves,
I soon get lost in my wonderland of sea shells and hidden caves…
Would summer be like, as expressed in the books?
Just as I think I see the dolphins in the water give me joyous looks.
I smile to myself, and feel the sand,
It feels better to be on something other than asphalted land.
“Please stay for long,” I plead to the sun,
“I’ll have to go, when my work is done.”
“Don’t go, hang on forever, please.” I protest,
“My works have just started, get some rest.”
The wind starts to sing,
The butterflies start to flow.
The bronze and golden sunlight,
Make everything glow.
I lose track of time,
As again, those long lazy days have begun.
It’s been a long wait too,
It’s time I had some fun…
Thanks Lili for this gorgeous poem! What did you all think about it? How are you all enjoying the showcase of all the submissions? Let’s chat in the comments section!
Lots of Love
