Weight loss is a battle that I’m sure a lot of us have faced or are currently facing. We are always striving for that perfect body, to lose a little bit more weight and to look a little bit trimmer. Unfortunately, life makes it hard to stay focused on weight-loss and making the healthier choice. All things that taste good are always more laden with calories than anything else, unhealthy food is a lot more convenient, and sometimes that takeaway meal is just calling to you too strong for you to ignore. I’ve been on a weight-loss mission for a long time. I’ve tried different diets, and exercise plans and nothing was working so I ended up getting really upset at myself for not being able to make it work. Then I realised that I was making weight-loss too hard for myself, pushing myself and changing things too quickly for me to really adapt to them. I also didn’t realise that there are a few tricks you can use that can make a world of difference in trying to lose weight. These tricks have helped me out a lot, not because they are the precise and perfect weight-loss method, but because they make losing weight and being healthier, in general, a little bit easier. They help take something huge, like changing your lifestyle to either drop some weight, become fitter or just be healthier, and make it a little more manageable with these tips that can help you stay on track. Now, as I have said, doing these things will not be the only thing that helps you lose weight. All those significant lifestyle changes require patience, dedication, energy, effort and perseverance. But, these tips will help you on this changing path and make things a little easier, at least in my opinion. Hey everyone! So for those of you who might be interested, I have decided to start a gardening project with my boyfriend. You see, I’ve always wanted to grow plants and have a flourishing garden of some sorts that I can show off to people and use for my cooking. Unfortunately, I’ve never quite gotten passed wanting to do it. I always stopped just short of starting it, but now I have decided to stop avoiding it and ignite my green thumb. What I’m realising now that I’ve started this project is how many choices and how much work goes into gardening, especially when you are an amateur. So, after discovering these tips after getting my own gardening project going, I’d like to share some of those tips with all of you. If any of you have ever wanted to start a gardening project but just haven’t done so (maybe you didn’t have time, the idea kind of dulled or things just didn’t work out the way you wanted), then I hope this blog inspires you and reignites that desire to sprout your green thumb (pun intended). So, for all of the fellow beginner-gardeners out there, here are some tips I have learned that I hope help you out and get your gardens going.
In all honesty, I have never been a big fan of teamwork or jobs/projects that require working with other people. Not because I don’t like people, in fact, I love people. The reason why I hate group projects and things is because I’ve never been part of a good team. People either never do their work or don’t do things properly or miss deadlines or simply refuse to do or show up for anything. So, I usually end up doing most of the work myself. However, being out of high school doesn’t exclude me from working in groups. I’m at a job right now where I am working with a big team where we have less than two months to complete an enormous project. As much as I wish I could, there is no way I could do this job on my own, and because I like to get things done correctly, I have thrown myself into this team. In the last few weeks, we have all learnt so much as a team. Even though we had many obstacles, we are now such a well-oiled machine that I’ve almost rethought my opinion about teamwork in general. Today, in honour of the great people I have worked with and the respect I have for proper collaboration, I would like to share the tips I have learnt about working well in and having an effective team. For those of you who might not need these tips, I hope you still enjoy reading, but for those of you who are like me or simply want some suggestions, I hope you find something useful in this blog.
This blog has been up for more than seven months, and in all of that time, I don’t think I’ve shared too much about myself. Yes, I’ve shared some experiences and little bits of information here and there, but I haven’t actually shown all of you fabulous readers precisely who I am. So, inspiration found! Hallelujah! Today I thought I would share ten fun and funky facts about myself. Friendships are not always easy. Like any other type of relationship, it takes effort, time, compromise and commitment to make it work. Sometimes it is also hard to be a good friend for many reasons. Things might be going absolutely crazy in your life, or in your friend’s life, or the two of you might be having problems or never get the chance to see each other. What I’m trying to say is that if you think that friendships aren’t always easy and that it is sometimes hard to be a good friend, you are absolutely right and I agree with you. I have been there, and I’m sure we all have been there. Today though, I would like to move on from just saying these things about friendships and share a few tips. Because, as hard as it can be to be a friend and maintain a healthy friendship, there is almost nothing more satisfying or happy-inducing than having and being a good friend. I’ve had some bad luck with friends over the years, but through every failed friendship, I learnt more about what it truly means to be a good friend and how to become a better friend. Through the things that went wrong, I realised the little things that really make friendships work, and today I would like to share those tips with you.
I guess that most of us eat at least one meal a day, usually between two and three meals a day but I’m sure that between those meals we all get stabs of hunger that are just so hard to ignore. Some delicious smell teases our nostrils, and suddenly we can’t wait for dinner in four hours. Or, we see others eating and all of a sudden, our stomach doesn’t want to be left out and starts rumbling to get our attention. I am sure we have all been there when hunger strikes between meals and we don’t have the willpower to ignore it. The only problem with giving in to those pangs of hunger is that we don’t always reach for the healthiest snack. Sometimes that may not be our fault, as a healthy snack isn’t readily available, but sometimes the unhealthy counterpart just sounds so much more appealing. Well, today I am going to tell you that those pangs of hunger can be silenced and not only by the nearest unhealthy snack you can find. Sometimes I also just need a snack to get me through the morning, but I don’t want that snack to wreak havoc on my healthy lifestyle. So, I have, through a lot of testing and tasting, found ten great hunger-stopping snacks. If you too find yourself unable to make it from one meal to the next and are looking for healthy snacks to silence the tummy rumbles, then this is the blog post for you.
Whenever we go on holiday, all we are usually thinking about is how relaxing it is going to be. Our thoughts are often around all the great activities we can do, the great sites we might see and in general how fantastic it will be to escape from all thoughts of work and the mundane to have a fun and relaxing holiday. What I’m sure a lot of us usually don’t do though (if you do though, kudos to you and ignore this assumption I am making) is think about exercising on holiday or being healthy. Why on earth should we be healthy on holiday? Being health conscience in terms of food can be so restrictive, especially while travelling and you want to try all of the delicious meals available to you. Exercise can also seem so dull and unfun when compared to the other activities you would rather spend your time doing. I’ve been in that spot – where thinking about doing exercise and being healthy on holiday is the last thing on my mind – but over the years I have realised that it is incredibly important to do so. While it may not seem like the fun option, it is still the right option to continue to think about the importance of our health while we are on holiday, but before you cry about all the problems it will cause, give me one second. There are ways to exercise and stay healthy on holiday without losing out on all of the fun, it just takes a few tips to do it all right. You are on holiday, of course – you want to be doing fun and relaxing things you don’t usually get to do at home. We all love the idea of going on vacation. It’s a chance to kick back and cleanse all of the work stress out of our bodies. It is the chance to finally take a deep breath out and just relax for once. You can revel in the fact that the hardest decision you will need to make is about what you feel like eating next. Family vacations can be even more fun in principle. It is an opportunity to spend time with your family in a relaxed environment, where you can all bond and have fun and make lots of special memories together. On paper, it all sounds perfect, but anyone who has been on a family vacation knows that sometimes it can be anything but perfect. Let me tell you the truth – perfect family vacations only exist on social media and in travel brochures. Even the most tight-knit family that gets along swimmingly won’t be 100% happy and picture-perfect on holiday. Things happen – people argue and fight, plans fall through, there are too many people, or the weather just has it out for you. Anything can happen that can turn your picture-perfect family vacation into something that seems more fitting in a horror show than a blow-up picture in a travel agency. Sometimes family vacations take a little hard work so that they are fun and relaxing for all. Hi everyone! Today I will be diving more into travel than I’ve done for a while, so I highly suggest you get comfy and be prepared for me to tickle your travelling taste buds. So, I have spent much of this year studying in different locations, but now it is time to kick back and exchange my jeans for a bikini and my sneakers for flip flops because I am on vacation! I’m currently travelling in Croatia with my boyfriend and family and let me tell you, pictures cannot capture how beautiful it is. I’ve been to Croatia once before, but don’t remember much as I was a lot younger. So, this trip I fully intend to go all-out in terms of touristing, and I would like to share some great things to try out if you ever find yourself in this part of Europe. Now I know that I haven’t done many travel blogs like this, but after spending a few days in Dubrovnik, I couldn’t not share all of what I have experienced, and what you should all think about doing if you are ever in Dubrovnik. Sometimes when we make friendships, we think they will stay the same forever. Now some friendships do stay the same, but most of the time, friendships change. They change for many reasons, but at the base of all these reasons is that people change as life happens, no one stays the same for their whole life. Now some really strong friendships make it through this because the people change and the friendship is strong enough to adapt and grow as the people do. Other times though, this isn’t the case, and friendships end up changing. Now friendships changing can either be a blessing or a really tough experience to go through. It all depends on how and why they change. But either way, as sad as it can sometimes be to see a friendship changing, there are a few ways to deal with these changes so that they don’t completely take over your life and make things horrible. Today, because I’ve had many different kinds of friendships over the years that have changed, especially this year, and have recently made a great friend, I will be talking about why friendships change and how you can deal with those changes.
