The Blogger Recognition Award

Hi everyone!! Today I am beyond ecstatic – throwing confetti, having dance parties in my head ecstatic – because I have been nominated for the Blogger’s Recognition award. Being nominated for an award is one of the most incredible feelings in the world – sort of like eating chocolate, Christmas morning and hugging puppies all at the same time. So, before I get onto the actual award, I wanted to say a huge thank you to Andrea from Life All Day: Live Like a Pro for nominating me for this award. If you haven’t had a chance, please be sure to go and check out her blog. Her posts are really lovely and she is such a sweet blogger too so go show her blog some love if you can.

Rules for this award:

  • Thank the blogger that nominated you and give a link to their site
  • Do a post to show your award
  • Give a summary of how your blog started
  • Give two pieces of advice to any new bloggers
  • Select up to 15 other bloggers for this award
  • Let each of the nominees know you’ve nominated them and give them a link to your post.

A summary of how my blog started

I’ve always been interested in writing, but sadly high school didn’t leave me with much time to explore that interest. After high school though, I decided to take a gap year to figure out what I wanted to study and so I figured that it was the perfect opportunity. I had lots of time on my hands to write, network and figure things out.I didn’t have to stress about school and had loads of opportunities lying ahead of me that I could use for blogging. Essentially I realised that I didn’t have enough excuses or obstacles anymore to stop me from starting a blog, and if I didn’t start it now then I never would. So, after a lot of planning and Google searching, a month and a half into 2019, Tall Blonde Tales was born and two and a half years later, here we are now!

Two pieces of advice to any new bloggers

First, never underestimate the power of networking. Blogging is as much about interacting with other bloggers and reading and supporting their blogs as it is producing your own content and maintaining your blog. I realised quite late into my blogging journey how incredible networking is – not just for growing your own blog but also for your own mental health as interacting with other bloggers helps you make friends and often makes it worth the hours it takes to produce content. So don’t wait too long to start networking, and try to keep it up even if you are busy. It’s one thing I’ve really missed being so busy at university, so try to dedicate a little part of your day to networking with other bloggers. You won’t regret it.

Second, don’t give up on your blog. Sometimes blogging is really hard. You can pour in hours and hours of work and end up with a response that disappoints you, or sometimes you may not feel like it’s worth the effort. I promise you though, that if you enjoy it even a little bit it is totally worth it so even if you don’t have a great day, or a great post, don’t give up. Stick with it, reach out to your blogging friends, or even take a break and then get back to your laptop. All it takes is connecting with one person who truly loves your blog to reinspire your love, and you won’t be able to do that if you stop.

Nominations for this award

Honestly there are so many amazing people I would love to nominate for this award. I would like to nominate the following people for this award:

Lana Teramae

Chasing the Maximum Life

Ang from Lose Weight with Ang

Small Moments of Wonder

Small Talks

Please don’t feel pressured at all to accept this nomination. However, if you would like to do this award, or would like to be nominated, let me know in the comments section and consider this an official nomination for you too!

I wanted to say thanks again to Andrea for nominating me, and thank you to all of you for all the love and support for Tall Blonde Tales! You make the blogging worthwhile so thank you all!

Lastly, I’m still keen to hear what your assumptions about me are, or if you have any questions for me that you’d love me to answer, however I haven’t received lots of responses on the google form. If you still want to share your assumptions (I’m seriously excited to see what they are), please click here so you can fill out the form (it will only take a minute I promise), so that I can share a fun post about them next week. If you don’t want to fill out that form however, or for some reason the link isn’t working, please pop me a message in the comments section or email me at tallblondetales@gmail.com

Thanks everyone and I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Lots of love
