Blogmas Day 1 – Welcome to Blogmas 2020!

Hello everyone!! It’s officially December. Our calendars have flipped over to the very last month of what has been a roller coaster of a 2020, and that means one thing … It’s time to get to decking the halls, singing Christmas carols off-key, eating way too much food and also the official start of Blogmas!

When I first decided to do Blogmas this year, I’ll admit I may have been a bit overambitious. I honestly had no idea just how much time and effort goes into blogmas. Sure, I know that each and every blog post takes time, but it’s quite a difference going from 2 per week to one every day for over three weeks. To all of those who do Blogmas every year, or to vloggers (because I’m sure doing vlogmas is even more time consuming), I salute you because wow!! I’m tired already, and Blogmas is only just starting. Thankfully Coronavirus (who would have thought anyone would ever use those two words in such quick succession) has meant that the workload is a little less, and with the term slowing down and everyone getting ready to go home for the holidays, that has thankfully given me a little extra time to get this all done. If not, I probably wouldn’t have even attempted to try this. However, if you still want to get involved in Blogmas, don’t think that just because it’s the first of December, it’s too late to start. You could do your own version of Blogmas (maybe 12 days), and there are so many blogmas ideas that I’m sure you’ll find plenty of content inspiration to keep you going through the month.

Welcome and Intro

In case you don’t know what Blogmas is (I didn’t even really know myself until two months ago), it’s a challenge/count-down/event where bloggers release a post every day from the start of December up until Christmas Day. The posts typically all centre around Christmas, and holiday-themed content but it doesn’t have to and can cover any topics you’d like. This post is just a chance for you all (and myself) to slowly dip our toes into Blogmas. It’s a chance for me to welcome you all and let you know what you can expect over the next 25 days – so I hope you’re all just as excited as I am.

For Blogmas, I’m going to be doing a range of different posts. They’ll include how-tos (for both recipes and crafts), Christmas favourites, some tips and tricks for around the holidays in different areas, stress, sustainability and a selection of guest posts from some phenomenal bloggers and close friends of mine. Those are just a taste-tester of all that’s to come though so be sure to stay tuned and keep up with Tall Blonde Tales every day to see the new post.

I will be focusing on Blogmas for the next month, which means an overload of Christmas-themed content in your feed/inbox. Still, I have tried to incorporate some of the topics I usually talk about into my Blogmas but with a healthy sprinkling of merriment and festive cheer on top. Guest post entries for Blogmas have closed, but if you still really want to take part in this, please reach out to me, and we can chat!

What’s the schedule for Blogmas?

So each and every day from today, I will be releasing a post that has something to do with Christmas, the holidays, or this magical time of year. However, after the 25th I’m going to take a short break (just to recuperate a little from all this blogging) and I will be back with updates, a new schedule and a new plan in the New Year! (I might take a short break sometime in the first part of next year to sort out university work, but I will definitely keep you guys updated as things go).

How can you keep up with Blogmas?

I will be sharing all my Blogmas content through my blog, as per usual, and over Facebook. However, being the optimist I am, I am also going to try and get back into Instagram (for those who know me you’ll know that I’m absolutely awful at keeping things up to date through social media but I always aspire to do better). So, for this month, and hopefully carrying over into next year, I will also be sharing my Blogmas content through Instagram so be sure to follow me on Instagram, or subscribe via email to receive email notifications about all posts if you don’t already.

What about you?

Are you taking part in Blogmas? Or have you sent guest posts to bloggers doing Blogmas if you aren’t taking part yourself? What are you most looking forward to this Christmas, and what content are you most looking forward to seeing on Tall Blonde Tales over Blogmas?

I can’t believe this day is finally here. I’m so excited to be taking part in Blogmas this year, alongside so many other fantastic bloggers who I truly admire and who inspire me to be a better blogger every day. It’s taken a lot of planning and even more hard work (not that staying up late to do work is new being a university student, but it does soak up quite a few hours in the day). I’ve gotten quite a bit of it ready for you all already, and more content with a festive twist in the making so I really hope you enjoy it. Here’s to a very festive, merry Christmas season, and I will see you all tomorrow!

Lots of Love

  2. Looking forward to your blogmas posts!! ❤️ Not taking part – since I couldn’t do with all the additional pressure to write so much. But loving everyone’s posts – they’re so cheerful and fun. I don’t know how you’re managing with classes and extra curriculars. But the break after is well deserved. 😊
