The Sunshine Blogger Award

The Sunshine Blogger Award is given by bloggers to bloggers who inspire positivity and creativity while spreading sunshine in the blogging community.

Wow! Just wow. I really have no words to express how amazing it feels to be nominated for another blogging award. If I thought my cat was judging me for my little party at my desk before, well he’s now morphed into Simon Cowell with the judging looks he’s sending my way. Sure, I may have been singing and dancing around my room because I’m that happy, but he was definitely not impressed by my antics.

Moving on swiftly then. I never thought I’d be nominated for a blogging award ever, let alone more than two in the last week. I’m going to do a post for the other awards next week – I would have done it all in one go today, but I’m celebrating my three-year anniversary with my boyfriend this week, so I decided I’d slack off a bit. So, before I get into the award itself, I have to thank someone first …

THANK YOU SO SO MUCH, Anjali from Chasing the Maximum Life for nominating me for this award. For those who don’t know, Chasing the Maximum Life is an incredible Lifestyle blog filled with truly fantastic posts. She’s an incredible writer, I love her blog a lot, but I also consider her to be one of the most genuine, positive and kindest people I’ve met. She is such a sweet and incredible blogging friend to have, so I highly recommend you go check out her blog (click here).

Questions From Chasing the Maximum Life

What embarrasses you the most and/or what’s been your most embarrassing moment?
I get embarrassed if I’ve forgotten to do something I’ve been asked to do or when I get used as an example by family members/teachers. My most embarrassing moment though was at a bowling party when I was 10 years old. In front of the whole group, I slipped when it was my turn and virtually skied down the bowling alley. Most mortifying moment of my life and nobody let me forget it.

Who do you look up to the most, and what qualities do you love about that person?
I look up to both my parents – they have shown me what it means to be a good person and the importance of helping the community and having a good work ethic with strong morals. In terms of blogging though I would say I really look up to Pooja from Lifesfinewhine. She is such an inspiration to me and is always so lovely and approachable, so she is definitely an icon for me in the blogging world.

What would be your perfect day? Plan it out from waking up to bedtime.
My perfect day would start with a decent sleep in (not too late so maybe until 8/9am) and then breakfast in bed with my boyfriend. I’d spend the morning reading/blogging then go out for lunch or maybe a movie and arcade session with my boyfriend (it’s our favourite date – I’m really missing it right now). In the evening I’d help my dad make dinner and then have a nice long bubble bath followed by a chat with my mom and then snuggling up with my cat (or boyfriend) to read or watch a movie before going to bed.

What’s your biggest fear?
Being forgotten and having to be lonely forever

How do you like to be comforted when you’re sad or upset?
It depends on how upset I am. Food is usually a great comfort because food makes everything better, but otherwise, I just want to have someone I trust hug me and let me cry so I can get it all out without feeling judged.

What’s your all-time favourite memory?
I have lots of happy memories, but my top three would be my first family holiday to Disney World (I got to go with my parents, both my brothers and my cousin which made it so much better); the day my boyfriend asked me out, and the day I got my uni acceptance letter.

What’s your favourite thing you own and why?
Ooh, this is a tough one. My blog is one thing as it is such a positive outlet for me and has allowed me to grow as a person, evolve my writing and meet new friends. But the other would probably be my old teddy bear as I’ve had it since I was a baby. I’ve travelled around the world with my teddy by my side, and whenever she’s with me, I always sleep happily (Yes I’m almost twenty and yes I still love my teddy. Don’t judge me!)

Who was the last person who made you cry and why?
Does it count if I say myself? I watched a movie that I knew would make me cry, but I did it anyway (I watched the 3 idiots and the Lion King, so it was an emotional day).

Where do you hope to be five years from now? Ten? Fifteen?
I’d hope to have finished studying at university and have gotten a job in the next five years. But in the next ten or fifteen years, I really hope to have published a novel, have an established career of some nature and be starting a family with the person I love.

If money was no object, what would you buy?
The theme parks in Florida! I know it sounds crazy, but I love all of them – Disney World, Universal and Sea World so if money wasn’t an issue I’d buy them so I could visit anytime I wanted and go on all the rides over and over without having to worry about queues.

When have you felt the most proud?
I felt incredibly proud when I got my university acceptance letter as I didn’t think I’d get into such an incredible school, but I also felt proud when my blog started taking off, and people were giving me such amazing compliments about it. Knowing others enjoy a platform I love so much is such a positive reassurance as to why I keep it going.

And to everyone else reading this post who wants to participate, please go ahead and claim this Sunshine Blogger Award. I’ve found the blogging community, in general, is just so positive and that wouldn’t be possible without all of you, so you all deserve this award. Also, on the note of those I’ve tagged, if you don’t want to participate or have already been nominated for this award, then don’t stress. There’s absolutely no pressure!

Questions are the same as above! (I really want to see your answers, so if you don’t quite feel like doing a blog post around it, I’d love to hear some of your responses in the comments section).

Otherwise, that’s all I have for you guys today. Thank you so so much for reading Tall Blonde Tales – this blog wouldn’t be what it is without the support from each, and every one of you so thank you!! Feel free to have a celebratory dance party in your room, especially if you don’t have a scrutinising cat. Also, don’t forget to go check out Chasing the Maximum Life and the other blogs I’ve nominated if you’re looking for blogs – they are all so amazing, so I’d highly recommend giving them a read. If you enjoyed reading this post, then please don’t forget to follow, like, share and comment on my blog (I don’t bite I promise, and I love chatting to people).

  1. I am so happy you got nominated for that award, congratulations! My perfect day would be so close to yours, I felt like I HAD to leave a comment to tell you about that lol. Well, you can spend the night with your cat AND boyfriend, that is what I do every night and it is so relaxing. Why choosing when you can have both? 😋 I also really appreciated you sharing your biggest fear with us, it was bold, congratulations for that as well.

    Sincerely,
    Camille ♡

Thank you so much for reading and commenting xxx

  3. Congratulations on being nominated! Your honestly deserve this award so much, you honestly are a ball of sunshine on your blog, in the comments and most likely in real life too! ❤️ Congrats on your uni acceptance, you must have been over the moon 🥰 Your perfect day honestly sounds so nice, it’s probably pretty similar to mine minus the boyfriend part because I’m a single Pringle 😂 Also your Gifs were so funny! Really made me smile ☺️ That absolutely sucks having that as a fear but I think that’s one of the most common fears? My friend is the same. Also have you ever considered getting your cat to model for the animal version of Vogue? Super stylish! Thank you SO much for nominating me and I promise, promise, PROMISE that I will be posting my answers next week. That’s like an ultra promise 😅 I’m going to take part in tag week because I have 4 so I’m going to spread them out every other day 🙂 I hope you’re having a lovely day/evening and what a lovely post to read ☺️

  5. Well, I am 26 and still sleep with a stuffed animal- nothing wrong with that

Beatrice Rose is my magenta bunny I made in my first semester of university. Student Activities hosts Candy and Critters. During it, you are making a stuffed animal- you literally are hand stuffing the animal. Beatrice, for short, became my sleeping buddy since- eventually college friends gave me Frozen pjs for Beatrice.
