Blogmas plea and life update

Hellooo everyone!

Firstly, I just wanted to say a huge wow and thank you for all the incredibly supportive comments I got on my last blog about my blogging insecurities. It’s always incredibly nerve-wracking to peel away the bubbly, positive part of my personality and share some of the scary, not so happy truths so the amazing response from you all really made me feel so much better about everything so thank you!

Next, I am here with a small plea/discussion point about Blogmas. So far I’ve received 3 submissions (thank you thank you thank you!!!), but I am sending out a little desperate plea for a few more! I know everyone is very busy, but not only do I love reading all your Christmassy posts (because there’s nothing about Christmas I don’t love and I love reading other people’s perspectives, experiences and tips/stories), you also save me the extreme stress of having to produce 25 blog posts all by myself. I’ve got loads of university work going on at the moment, 3 assignments all due in the next two weeks aahhhhhhhhhh, so I’m very stressed about getting enough of Blogmas ready to go until my university term is done and I have the time to do a post each day. Please save meeeee! (and pop in the comments if you’re planning on sending something in – thank you!)

Right now that I’ve gotten that little bit of begging and pleading done, I have another little bit of Blogmas news – what sort of thing would you like to read on my Blogmas this year? I’ve already got a few ideas for posts, but of course I want to make sure that you enjoy it because a big part of it is for you. So, if there is any specific Christmas topic you’d like me to write about, please let me know so I can get it in my little blogging plan.

Annnnndddd now that blogging admin is out the way, I thought I’d share with you all a bit of life news just so that this post isn’t all me on my metaphorical knees and talking about Blogmas. So I’ve already alluded to the fact that I am sort of drowning in all my university work, but that’s not exactly a life update. It’s more the never-ending sad story of being a university student. No, no my mini life updates are quite small, but they are really exciting for me so I wanted to share them with you all.

  • I’ve finished decorating my flat for Christmas. Well technically it was already finished a week ago because I can’t help myself, but now is the first time I’ve felt I have the space to share it. Generally my rule is that as soon as Halloween is over, I can start mentally prepping for Christmas and as soon as my rather weak willpower cannot hold it any longer, I break out the tinsel and sparkly baubles and let the Christmas merriment free!
  • I think I’ve sorted out my volunteering at the Zero Waste shop in Durham, alongside the two societies I’m an exec member on which always feels like a mighty triumph. For both Disney and Creative Writing we are busy planning some amazing Christmas sessions so hopefully I can give you an update about that soon but let me just say they include festive decor, Christmas music and an abundance of hot chocolate
  • I’ve started an exercise challenge (and a semi-healthy eating challenge – because it’s too hard to go cold turkey especially now when all the amazing Christmas food and drink are everywhere taunting me) from now until I hopefully see my family for a holiday on the 21st of December. I’m letting you all know so it forces me to stick to it and you can all bug me if you want hehe.
  • Lastly, I’m writing a book! In fact, I’m writing two books! I am finally doing some (very slow) work on a fiction novel that I’m really excited about it so hopefully that won’t end as a half-finished manuscript buried on my hard-drive. I’m also working on a university guidebook that I’ve been thinking about starting for a long time and now I finally took the plunge and got the ball rolling so any ideas for chapters in that guidebook, feel free to let me know!

Other than that, that’s all I have for you today! Thanks so much for reading today’s post, and for your constant love and support. I hope you’re all having a good November (feel free to share any of your life updates I would love to hear them) and are as excited for Blogmas as me!

Lots of Love

  1. Writing 25 days’ worth of Blogmas content is so hard! I do mine once a week and if I have more time this year I’ll try to add in a few more. What are you studying at university? Hopefully your stress goes down soon enough to enjoy the holidays!

    1. Yeah it isn’t easy but it’s a fun challenge especially with university work on top of it!! Oooh nice that sounds very cool! I’m studying Education studies (theory and practice) and thank you so much I will drink my stress away with hot chocolate 😊

  2. Tia, think you are oveloading with work, especially adding 2 x books into the mix. Maybe get exams over and then write whilst you wait to go on holiday with your family, just a little old lady advice. Good luck with everything busy Lady. xxx

  3. It sounds like you have a busy month or so coming up.
I’ll try to send in a submission before the submission due date, but it may be a little after that. I hope you get more submissions!
