Summer Competition Showcase

Helloooo all my lovely readers!

How are you all doing?

We are now officially in the middle of winter here in South Africa and I am freezing my butt off. On top of the normal winter chill (which is no picnic), we’re also experiencing a cold front. South Africa might be a warm place but it still gets super cold in the winter and with the current wind and temperature I am super close to wearing my ski jacket outside. *teeth chatters*

I’ll probably look really stupid because I always wear way too many layers but if that’s the price for being warm I’ll take it. It’s so cold that today I’ve literally spent most of my morning in bed. I did get up, do a little exercise, get changed etc but it’s just so chilly (and our houses really aren’t designed to retain heat) that I got straight back into bed under all my fluffy blankets with my personal hot water bottle – my cat.

Anywho, the deadline for submissions for the summer competition has passed and I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who entered! I am really glad I extended the deadline because now there are definitely enough entries to go ahead with the competition so YAYYYYY!!!

So to all those who took the time to create the beautiful posts for this competition, thank you soooo much!!

Now comes the fun part – are you ready??

Everyone has submitted their entries, so now we are going to move onto the showcase. I am busy compiling all the submissions, and from next week Monday (the 26th of July), I am going to share two submissions per week – one on Monday and one on Saturday. I will be doing a normal blog post on Wednesdays.

After all the submissions have been showcased here, I will open up voting for the winners of the three categories so please be sure to check out all the different entries as I share them, and keep in mind which ones are your favourite for when voting starts. There will be a short voting period window so all you readers have the chance to check out the different entries again and can cast your votes, and once that’s done I will announce the winner of each category (who will then receive their £50 amazon voucher prize!!)

I hope you’re all excited to see the amazing summer-themed entries everyone has worked so hard on to submit. I’m not going to give anything away but there is a gorgeous mix of stunning artwork, beautiful poems and fantastic blog posts that have been sent in so I hope you’re all keen, and please don’t forget to be on the lookout every monday and saturday from next week for these pieces in the Summer Competition Showcase.
