Hey everyone! I hope you’re doing well and enjoying your weekend? South Africa is baking-hot at the moment so I’m cooking a little but otherwise everything is going well!
Today, I’m hosting the lovely Ariela from Ariela On The Go for a guest post. I hope you enjoy her post!

It’s Been a Year
I made this post as a recap on what I have been doing during the global pandemic. It’s been a year since Covid-19 was announced as a global pandemic. I wan’t to focus on the positive side because there will be an end to this, and I believe the best has yet to come. I had planned a Harry Potter birthday theme for my twelfth birthday in May last year. My parents planned trips to Uganda, Israel, and Thailand. Obviously all those things didn’t happen.
It’s not all bad. My schoolwork wasn’t affected at all because I’m homeschooled. I started blogging last year due to the pandemic so I would have something to do and keep me occupied. My parents also encouraged me to play the ukulele, and YouTube is very, very helpful. I can play two songs now!
My parents decided not to spent winter in Florida, USA as we normally do every year. Instead we drove across Canada from east to west, we are currently in the west coast of Canada and I’ve been blogging about my adventures since October. Check out my blog to read about all my adventures!
A few months ago for the first time, I went snowmobiling, dog sledding, and I learned how to snowboard this year. I had such a fun time! If the global pandemic didn’t happen, we would be in Florida and we would do the same thing and the same experiences. The pandemic made us try something new. We appreciate being in Canada in the winter, and family realized that you don’t have to always travel far to find amazing places to explore!
On our drive across Canada, I also did a fundraiser for Food Banks. I’m raising money and raising awareness about food insecurity. My goal is to raise ten thousand dollars, and I am VERY HAPPY TO SHARE THAT WE REACHED THAT GOAL!!! This is also a good thing because I did something to help others during the pandemic, and I encourage you to help others also. Even just a small act of kindness can make a difference!
Stay safe and Hang in there! ️
Sincerely, Ariela White
