Book Tag Tuesday (on Wednesday) – The Frozen Tag

Hey there everyone!! Today I am (finally) doing the Frozen book tag that I was tagged in by the wonderful and brilliant Millay’s Musings. I know it’s not quite #booktagtuesday but I thought Wednesday was close enough right? First things first, I want to thank Millay’s Musings again so much for tagging me in this amazing post and I am so so sorry for taking so long to do this tag. I always love doing book tags because it lets me reminisce over my favourite reads (and feel guilty about how little reading I’m doing, but at least that gives me something to look forward to in the holidays), and this post also brings in another favourite of mine … Disney!! Millay’s Musings and I are huge Disney fans, as she pointed out in her own post so anything Disney related, I can imagine either one of us would adore!! So, without further ado, I’m going to just jump right into it.

The Frozen Tag

Rules:

  • Tag the creator (the oh-so-fabulous Millay’s Musings)
  • Answer all the prompts
  • Tag at least three people
  • List your favourite Disney song(s)

Frozen Heart

A book that depicts an inanimate object as alive

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling. The sorcery that brings so many inanimate objects to life that we get to discover alongside Harry is, for lack of a better word, magical!!

Do you want to build a snowman

A book with a character who never gives up

What’s a Girl Gotta Do? By Holly Bourne. Lottie goes through so many struggles and challenges through this book but she never gives up. She may not be my favourite character in the Spinster club series but I truly admire how she never gives up, especially about this issue that she is so passionate about.

For the first time in forever

A book that fills you with longing

Sleigh Rides and Silver Bells at the Christmas Fair by Heidi Swain. To be fair, all her books create this same sense of longing just because of the beautiful story and atmosphere she creates. Truly, Wynbridge sounds like the picture perfect place and not only does it fill me with longing to travel and see beautiful places like that, but the festive Christmas energy, and the loving community relationships also fill me with longing because I miss my family and would love to be able to have such a wholesome Christmas with them.

Love is an Open Door

A book that has a sappy/overdone love story

Ugh so hard to choose because sappy love stories are my weakness (yes I know they’re cheesy but that’s why I love them). Adorkable by Cookie O’Gorman is one that springs to mind – while I always love a cheesy love story, this one’s plot was definitely sappy and overdone.

Let it go

A book with a MC who finds such joy and power in being free

Though this may not be ‘freedom’ exactly, Hope from Theatrical (by Maggie Harcourt), truly lights up as a character when she is free and pursuing her dream of working backstage in a theatre. Even though the work is exhausting, you can truly see how much her character flourishes when she has that ‘freedom’.

Reindeers are better than people

A book with a sassy animal/creature

A childhood classic but fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl. He is just such a character that I think he fits the role of a sassy animal perfectly (except his wife Felicity might be the sassier one out of the two of them).

In Summer

A book with a character that is so naive it is loveable

Wilbur from Charlotte’s Web – he is so naive, constantly trusting too much, and doesn’t know anything about life on the farm. However, he is still so sweet and loveable, and Charlotte is the most amazing friend constantly helping him out.

For the first time in forever (reprise)

A book with an argument that you love

Definitely the argument between Porter and Bailey in Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett. Not only is it so filled with emotion, but it also acts as the start in the shift between their relationship. It sends shivers down my spine every time I read it!!

Fixer upper

A book with two imperfect characters that are perfect for each other

There are so many great examples of this because I truly love books that bring together two flawed characters and help them grow together but I think my favourite most recent example is Playing the Player by Lisa Brown Roberts. Trina and Slade are stereotypically flawed (in their tropes) but they compliment each other so well.

All is found

A book plot with a mysterious underlying plot

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman – I knew that there was something going on underneath the primary plot but when it all came out I was so shocked and overwhelmed with emotions. I sort of saw it coming, but not to that extent if that makes sense?

Somethings never change

A book with a character who literally never experiences a character arc

Hmmm this is a tough one to think about … Penny from Carry on Simon by Rainbow Rowell. Even in the second book Wayward Son she doesn’t seem to develop as a character at all, still going through the same motions with the same mistakes/opinions and not really changing or learning from her past issues. However, I suppose one can say that she does start to develop a little at the end of the second book, although for a pretty prominent character I think it takes far too long.

Into the unknown

A book that gives you a thrill

The Lunar Chronicles by Marrisa Meyer – I know it’s not technically one book but every time I read it I get goosebumps because the plot is so interesting and exciting. Even though I’ve read it several times, I still get giddy in anticipation and can feel myself on the edge of the proverbial seat. Marissa Meyer truly keeps the thrill going from the beginning of the first book right until the end.

When I’m older

A book with a character who is probably too trusting

This could raise an eyebrow or two but I’m going for it. Frodo Baggins from the Lord of the Rings (J.R.R. Tolkien) I think is a bit too trusting of a character. Of course, it all works out in the end and one has to admire his character but he does ignore a few warnings and there are some moments when I definitely think he was a bit too trusting.

Lost in the woods

A book with a hopeless romance

Waiting for Tom Hanks by Kerry Winfrey. Try to find me a bigger hopeless romantic than the protagonist Annie from this book. She is obsessed with classic romcoms, dreaming of being a writer and waiting for the perfect guy right out of a film. She literally wants the classic knight in shining armour but if we’re being honest, who doesn’t want one of those perfect romance heart throbs?

Show yourself

A book with a character that experiences an awesome transformation

Supernova by Marrisa Meyer. I’ve been trying really hard not to repeat authors too much but this is my favourite example. Nova, in this trilogy goes through the most phenomenal transformation, both literally and in terms of her character development.

The next right thing

A book who’s MC undergoes tremendous pain and rises above it

Did I mention I love you by Estelle Maskame. Okay technically Tyler isn’t the protagonist (although Eden goes through some incredible pain too), but Tyler goes through some unbelievably painful experiences and yet somehow, he manages to overcome them and throughout the trilogy, even if you may not realise it, he is constantly growing and working to rise above it. By the end of the trilogy I could not love this character more just because of how amazing he is and everything he had to overcome.

My favourite Disney Song

Such a tough question oh my word this might be harder than trying to find suitable books for this tag but it would have to be ‘Be Prepared’ from the Lion King (the original!! That excuse for a chant in the live action does not count!!). I know it’s a villain song but I can’t resist.

Anyone else who loves books, Frozen or wants to do this tag!!

If you decide to do this tag, please let me know (or leave a link to your post in the comments) so I can see your posts and read your answers.

Thanks everyone so much for reading this tag! I know it has been a long-time coming but I hope you still enjoyed it. The wonderful Millay’s Musings also tagged me for the Beauty and the Beast Book tag, which I will write up asap and hopefully post in the new year (because Blogmas is going to take up most of December).

So, my questions for you before ending today’s post – do you want to see more book tags or book related posts from me in the future? What is your favourite Disney song? What is your favourite book at the moment? Are there any books you’re looking forward to reading over Christmas? How much do you love Frozen and what is your favourite song/who is your favourite character? Let’s chat in the comments section!!

  1. SO glad you were able to do this one! I loved your answers! I definitely understand and can see Frodo as being a bit too trusting. I feel like he may have known he was being too trusting – especially with Gollum (ugh.)- but he didn’t have much of a choice. I am positively itching to read the Lunar Chronicles!! Oh! I get to look forward to Blogmas AND the B & B tag! These next few months are gonna be fun! Also, can you believe 2020 is nearly over??!! xoxo

  2. Millay Musing did a good job with this Frozen book tag because it was cool how she came up with these questions based on topics from the movies! I salute for reading because I’ve never read that many books in my entire life (not for fun at least haha)!

      1. Seems like hours just finding all those references and fitting that into book tag concepts.

That’s cool you enjoy and find comfort in reading, everyone is different. I read a lot of blogs and articles on Wikipedia, but I’m not sure if that counts haha.

  6. I am both a bookworm and Frozen fan. I wanted to see the stage show of Frozen this year- but postponed. So, I actually asked for the Original Broadway Soundtrack for Christmas.

Not just a book- but also a musical theatre fanatic
