10 in 1 blogging awards Second Edition (part three)

Heyyy everyone how’s it going?? I hope you’re all keeping well. The change of the season is definitely happening and I am certainly celebrating winter’s farewell! I can finally wear t-shirts again and leave the house without wearing a hundred layers, plus all the plants springing back to life is a gorgeous sight. Except now I’m in England where the weather is thankfully still nice and hot but I’m awaiting a return of the cold … How are you enjoying the seasonal change?

Anywho, I am back with part three of this incredible (and very long I am so so sorry) blogging awards post. After this, I think I am all caught up on awards (if however you’ve nominated me for an award and I haven’t answered your questions in one of the three parts by now please leave me a note in the comments section so I can get to it! I promise I haven’t forgotten I may have just missed it). Thank you, once again, to all the amazing bloggers who have nominated me for these awards. It has truly made me so so happy because I never thought I’d ever be nominated for so many awards. THANK YOU ALL SO SO SO MUCH!!!!

Questions from Anjali, Chasing the Maximum Life

What has been your biggest struggle when it comes to blogging?

I think one of the biggest struggles is finding enough time for all the aspects of blogging (writing posts, editing, networking, reading other blogger’s posts) when life gets busy because as much as I love blogging it does take time that is sometimes hard to find.

What’s the title of the current chapter of your life?

It’s the start of something new

What’s your favourite life hack?

Walk away. Whether you’re angry, frustrated, upset or just feeling unproductive, walking away from the situation allows you to cool off, get some space and also some time to think about things and get insight. That way, you don’t snap at someone unintentionally or you can come back to the situation in a calm, rational state of mind and when you do that you can often solve the problem a lot faster.

Road trip or scenic train ride?

Road trip. Definitely. I have a special memory attached to road trips because we used to do them to visit my grandparents at the coast and my dad, brother/boyfriend and I have done quite a few and it’s just so peaceful (plus you can stop ‘whenever’ you want which is great).

Most uplifting song according to you?

This is me from The Greatest Showman

Favourite social media platform? Why?

I think I’d have to say Pinterest – I don’t use it as much as I probably should but it is just such a fun, easy to navigate platform and you can use it for just about anything. I always consult Pinterest for inspiration, tips, and to find fun projects plus you can also just scroll through images that make you happy (baby animals, or just fluffy puppies in my case).

What is the one thing you want to do in the future?

Publish a novel. It’s probably my biggest dream.

What has made you happy recently?

Hmm I’ve been really stressed recently but I guess I’d say something that’s made me really happy was going on a date with my boyfriend and just getting to enjoy a braai with my parents, brothers and boyfriend.

What is the scariest thing you have done?

Swimming with sharks. Everyone said that they are harmless but just the idea of swimming with them was still so terrifying plus when you’re in the sea you are by far the slowest thing there so I am always very humbled by the ocean and swimming with those sharkies was definitely terrifying.

If you could get a paid three-day break from the hustle and bustle of life, where would you spend your vacation?

Probably some tropical island like the Maldives. I could sit under a palm tree and read a book while enjoying the sound of the ocean or swim in those beautiful blue waves. Ahhhhh sounds like absolute heaven.

What is the one thing you love about yourself?

I guess I’d have to say I love my optimism as I always try to see the best in people and hope for the best and it can be very reassuring to think like that.

The Great Achiever “महासिद्धी” Blogger Award

Next, I want to thank Anjali again from Chasing the Maximum Life for this second nomination. She is such a phenomenal friend, and talented blogger, so be sure to check out her blog here. Questions from Anjali, Chasing the Maximum Life

How can you explain peace?

That’s a very good question. I’d say peace is when everything is tranquil and free from violence or unpleasant disturbances. Peace can be relative though as everyone finds peace in different ways but I think at the end of the day peace is when everyone can coexist in a positive, tranquil way and where there is no violence or danger.

How aware are you about the three R’s? Reuse, Reduce, Recycle

I’d say I’m pretty aware of them. Sadly recycling is quite hard to do where I live because of the systems in place but I always try to anyway and me and my whole family are very big on trying to reuse/upcycle what we can and reduce our carbon footprint/plastic use as much as possible.

Do you prefer: Peace with poverty or violence with richness around?

Peace with poverty. No amount of richness is worth any sort of violence.

What is the most important – outer or inner beauty?

Inner beauty because someone can look beautiful but be mean and have a horrible personality so I’d far rather interact with someone who is beautiful on the inside. Looks can only take you so far before true colours (inner beauty/ugliness) are revealed.

What do you think is more important, a former education or super education skills?

I think that all education is important and have value because all different forms help you learn and grow in different ways. However, I do think that super education skills can sometimes be more valuable because they give you more real-world skills and insight as opposed to the type of specific, contextual learning you do in school.

Have you helped someone recently?

Yes I helped someone carry their bags.

If you were given a choice to opt between lots of money or lots of peace, which one will you choose and why?

I’d choose peace because all the money in the world won’t create the same happiness that peace will. If there is no more violence, and people are peaceful and willing to just have rational, mature conversations with each other and act with kindness, I have no doubt the world will already be a much richer place.

Last but certainly not least, I want to say a big thank you to Addie from Life in Pajamas for nominating me for the Mystery Blogger award. 3 things about me

  • My favourite genre to read and watch is corny romantic fiction
  • I can’t eat soft serve ice cream (it makes me cough, which is very bad in the current climate)
  • I love pineapple on pizza (don’t you judge me I know there are lots of people who also love it)

Questions from Addie, Life in Pajamas

When is your birthday? Most precious gift that you would cherish lifelong?

My birthday is in the middle of October, when spring is meant to be in full bloom in South Africa. My most precious gift is a tough one … It is a very close call between my childhood teddy bear, my cat (he’s turning 10 this year), my saxophone or my lucky cat (which was a gift from my grandmother and she gives me new batteries for him whenever she thinks I need some luck.)

Which supernatural powers would you choose – being invisible or to read other’s minds?

I’ve always thought being able to read people’s minds would be really interesting so I’d go with that one.

Your favourite author? Why?

I hate these favourite questions because I hate picking favourites (I like lots for different reasons) but at the moment my favourite author is Lisa Brown Roberts.

How many awards have you been nominated for?

I am so grateful to have been nominated for over 20 blogging awards. So many wonderful bloggers have nominated me in the last two months that I’m honestly not sure how many it is right now but I’m super thankful for each and every one of them (including this one). Xxx

Name a place you want to visit again

If I say anywhere does that count?? Jokes aside though, I would really love to go to Italy again, probably Sicily or the Amalfi coast? It’s so beautiful and picturesque plus the food is mind blowingly amazing.

Nominees and questions

So I’ve been nominating various people for these different awards across my awards post but now I’d like to leave an open nomination for all three of these awards. Every single blogger out there deserves recognition for the hard work and passion they pour into their blogs so if you feel any of these awards are something you’d like to take part in, please leave a comment and consider yourself nominated!! Also, I’d like to pass on the same questions for each award that were posed to me.

And that draws this incredibly long series to an end. Once again, thank you so much to Anjali and Addie for nominating me for the awards in this post, and another thanks to all the wonderful bloggers who have nominated me and tagged me in various awards and tags!! I love all of you and you make blogging the highlight of my week. I’m definitely going to try and catch up on tags and the remainder of awards this week so forgive me in advance if I spam your notifications. I’ll see you all soon (and also thank you to everyone who gave me feedback from my last post. If you missed out on that you can still do so here.)

  1. Congratulations! I love This is Me too and I think your definition of peace is really concise! But I hate books of the romance genre. Also your cat looks so grumpy but cute😂 I can’t believe he’s 10!

  2. Congrats on all your nominations! Very interesting post! I really feel like your personality comes out in your blogging and that makes it so interesting to read! This thing you said, “Inner beauty because someone can look beautiful but be mean and have a horrible personality so I’d far rather interact with someone who is beautiful on the inside. Looks can only take you so far before true colours (inner beauty/ugliness) are revealed.” is so true! One thing I wanted to add is that when someone is beautiful on the inside, they will automatically become more and more attractive on the outside, making them a ray of sunshine and beauty for all to behold! That is why it is so important to refine yourself inside, first and foremost! Hope your having fun in the UK! xoxo

Let me try to understand that you swam with sharks?!!!!! It sounds terrifying just thinking about it but, happy you made it out alive ! Pinterest is always a great place to get inspired and motivated to do DIY crafts though, sometimes I’ll spend longer scrolling through Pinterest than doing the activity 😂

    1. I’m so glad you picked up on it 😂 I couldn’t think of a better way to describe my situation right now – did you sing it in your head? 😂 Hehe I didn’t know until it was happening (I was snorkeling and all of a sudden there was this large and intimidating fish gliding past me) and the second time my brothers bullied me into it but I’m glad too it was terrifying 😂 I know me too I often feel so inspired and keep scrolling with all these ideas but I don’t often get to the actual doing 🙈😂 Thank you so much you are nominated too if you want 😉😁❤️
