Blogmas Day 25 – MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

OH EMMM GEEE!!!!

CHRISTMAS IS FINALLY HERE!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

Every year I always can’t believe how quickly this time of year flies by. We spend all year waiting for it, and then spend most of December (or in my case as soon as Halloween is over) gearing up for it and now it’s finally here and will be over soon!

Last year I remember writing that things may not have felt super Christmassy thanks to the pandemic and things were probably lacking in festivities thanks to all the restrictions in place. Sadly, the pandemic hasn’t left us quite yet even though I know we were all hoping at this time last year that we would be able to have a covid-free Christmas come this time. I guess there’s always hoping for next year right?! Even though Covid may still be tainting a lot of special moments for all of us, I think one of the key things I’ve learnt this year is even if things don’t turn out the way you want, sometimes that can’t be helped. Instead of sulking, if you have a good attitude about it, that doesn’t mean you can’t still have a great time or find things that make you happy – it may just be different to what you’re used to and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

This is my very first Christmas where I’m not celebrating it with my family and I’m not going to lie, it’s sad. It feels weird not being able to wake up and wander downstairs to make tea with my dad, see my little brother stumbling out of his room, hearing my older brother and mom singing Christmas songs off key and curling up on the couch with my boyfriend while we all eat mince pies for breakfast. However, just because I can’t be with them, that doesn’t mean Christmas is ruined, it’s just different this year. I’ve been video calling them all, and I’ve been having an amazing time with my friend and her family so Christmas has still come in all its magical merriment.

So now that Christmas is finally here, I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to each and every one of you! I hope you all have a truly magical day and I hope that COVID-19 hasn’t ruined your Christmas plans or limited your celebrations too much. Again!

Also, now that Christmas day has arrived, that means that Blogmas comes to an end too! I’m sure you’re all a little bit thankful (I am too in a way hehe) not to have me popping up in your inbox every single day. I have had so much fun with Blogmas and the time has honestly flown by. It certainly had its challenges, because of university work and all the other stuff going on, but somehow I made it through it and this might just be the excitement for Christmas talking, but it definitely felt a bit easier and more manageable than it did last year so who knows maybe next year’s Blogmas will be even better? As always, there were some posts where I was really struggling to sit down and get them ready, but just as it did last year, working on Blogmas not only helped me get into the Christmas spirit, but it helped me appreciate it in a whole new way because I’ve spent the whole holiday season in England and have sort of had to create new Christmas traditions for myself.

However, this Blogmas would not have been possible without every single one of you! To all the other phenomenal bloggers who have supported me, inspired me and given me advice, but also to everyone who has followed Blogmas, read the different posts and chatted with me in the comments section. I have loved speaking to all of you about different Christmas related things and getting to know you all better, plus it makes me so happy to know how many of you followed my first Blogmas and enjoyed the posts. I will definitely try and do it again next year, and hopefully it will be even better thanks to the lessons I’ve learnt this year.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!

I’d also like to just say a very special thank you to all my friends and family outside of the blogging world. This year has come with a whole new host of challenges, especially now moving overseas a bit more permanently and I couldn’t have made it through it all without the love and support of my incredible family (especially my parents), my amazing boyfriend, and my close friends both back in South Africa and at Uni who have definitely made it so much easier to be far away from home for this long.

My very last questions for all of you before I go to do a whole bunch of cooking with my dad and boyfriend to our Christmas playlist and I leave you all to your merry celebrations are …

What was your favourite blogmas post that I did? Was there any that stuck out particularly for you? Did you learn anything new and most importantly did you enjoy following Blogmas on Tall Blonde Tales? Also, how are you all celebrating today?

I hope it is absolutely magical and filled with nothing but joy, sparkles and lots of delicious food!

MERRY CHRISTMAS ONCE AGAIN EVERYONE!!

I’ll see you all in the new year!I’ll be taking some time off from the blog now, I’ll pop up to say hello in the new year but I may not be blogging regularly for a little while just so I can focus on university assignments and also take a little blogging holiday and refresh myself. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your december though and I’ll see you sometime at the start of next year!

Lots of Love
