Hotel Quarantine Diaries #4

Heyyy everyone! With my quarantine almost over, I figured I should finish letting you all know how the experience went so without further ado, here are my last two days of hotel prison, I mean quarantine, and my first day of freedom!

Day nine – 18/08

Now that I’m almost done with quarantine, I’m starting to get metaphorical ants in my pants. I haven’t felt claustrophobic yet, but I am getting more and more excited to finally get out of this room.

I got my PCR test back, and it’s negative!! YAYYY!!!

Which means that as soon as I finish my ten days, I can escape and be free in the world again!! Not that fresh air is super abundant in a heaving metropolis like London, but I will probably be gulping it up when I’m out.

Now that I’ve finished modern family, I’m starting some new series to keep me distracted and give me something to use when I procrastinate until uni starts. I’ve started watching Community, and the Dreamworks animated series called Trollhunters because what’s life without some whimsy?

Apart from those minor details, food is now really not appealing (maybe I’m just sick of these meals?) so I can’t wait to be out and cook for myself again. Because I’ve also eaten loads of pizza, I’m definitely going to go on a health cleanse when I get back up to uni. My stomach, waistline and jeans are screaming for it!

Otherwise, there’s not much else I can share except I’m going to start packing up my stuff and getting ready to leave so chow! see you all tomorrow!

Day ten – 19/08

LAST DAY!! LAST DAY!! LAST DAAYYYYYY!!

Holy moly I didn’t think I would make it through these ten, well technically eleven days, stuck in one room.

This day was really very chilled. I finished packing up my bags, unboxed a parcel or two that I had delivered from my res (sadly they had arrived there while I was in South Africa and I didn’t have anywhere else to send them except for directly to me soo… oh well), did some blog writing and in between it all watched some episodes.

Sadly I really haven’t had that much time to do my own writing during these ten days. I know it’s weird, but I’ve been surprisingly busy doing other things so I just didn’t find the time to do as much creative writing as I would have liked but I definitely plan on making it a more concrete part of my diary.

Apart from that, there’s really not that much to tell because there’s only so much excitement to find in one square. I really just can’t wait to get out tomorrow!

Day zero – freedom!!! 20/08

I’m finally freeeeee!!!!

It’s so weird that I can walk around now and not be stuck in my room. And, in a place where I don’t have to wear a mask when I walk around! How cool?!

After getting out of my room, which was a surprisingly surreal experience, I went across time town to the hotel where I’ll be staying with my friend for our little pre-uni holiday. I unloaded my bags, and hit the streets. My word does it feel good to walk around!!

I strolled the streets, got myself some tea, and went to the most important store of all… a five story bookstore!!! Waterstones is always a critical stop for me when I’m in London, because who doesn’t love books? I’ll be sure to share some photos of my book haul once I get them unpacked.

I spent most of the day enjoying being outdoors, and doing some window shopping (and actual shopping), mixed in with the periodic stopping for tea and delicious things to eat. My feet are going to be so sore tomorrow, and my plans with my bestie for our holiday certainly aren’t going to make that any better, but I have no regrets!

Thanks for following my diary series of my experience in hotel quarantine. I hope you enjoyed it and it wasn’t too boring, but I really appreciate it! I’ll see you all soon but for the next little bit my posts will probably just be the showcase pieces.

Lots of Love

  1. Congratulations on finally ending quarantine. 🙂 I just finished Part 3 of Trollhunters and I have to say that it left a bit of hole in my life right now. I just want more adventures from our favorite Trollhunter but I guess I’d have to give 3Below a chance too. How are you finding it so far? 🙂
