The Mystery Blogger Award and Liebster Award

Hey there everyone!! So today I’m trying to start with catching up on Award nominations (I am so bad at this and know that I’m behind so please bear with me). I have a few more tags and awards to do and I will try to get them done before Blogmas so today I’m kicking things off with the mystery blogger award and the liebster award.  I have been nominated for both of these awards by the above-and-beyond wonderful Anjali from Chasing the Maximum Life. She is honestly the most incredible person in the world she has been such a good friend to me for so long and I can’t imagine what my blogging life would be without her in it so Anjali, thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! If you don’t follow her, I highly recommend you go and check out her blog here

Right, onto the awards shall we?

The Mystery Blogger Award

What is the Mystery Blogger Award?

“It’s an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging, and they do it with so much love and passion.”

3 things about me:

  • I’m a huge Disney movie nerd
  • I’m terrified of chickens (this is a fact I always share)
  • I love collecting mugs (for drinking tea)

My best post:

Hmmm … I actually love pretty much all of my posts so I’m not really sure what would be my best post but I think one of my favourite posts is either “Some people are worth melting for – true vs fake friendships” or “It’s okay to feel!” because they were really personal to write and they are topics that are very close to my heart.

My answers to Chasing the Maximum Life’s Questions:

What have you done this week that made you feel good about yourself?

I had a zoom session with the creative writing society I am part of and just talking to all of them, getting the chance to do some short creative writing exercises and sharing them with such supportive people really makes me feel happy and makes me feel positive about writing again.

What were the last 5 emojis you used?

❤️😘😂🙈😊

Describe the most embarrassing incident of your life

Okay this is quite nerve-wracking, unleashing this onto the internet but I trust you all. Okay so I think one of my most embarrassing moments is when I went on a date with a guy to the movies, and he spilt his entire drink all over my dress … it was horrible, disgusting and safe to say the worst date I have ever been on.

What is your best achievement in blogging till now?

Oooh that’s a tough one but I think being nominated for any blogging award is still my most honoured achievement, but particularly when I got nominated for the Beautiful Blogger award. I was blown away by that as I never thought I would get nominated for such an award.

[Weird question] If you could switch places with one actor in any scene in any movie/tv show, which would it be?

Okay this is a weird one but I would be Johnny Depp in Charlie and the Chocolate factory when they are in the first big beautiful edible park with the chocolate river, just because it sounds like absolute heaven.

The Liebster Award

About the award

The Liebster Award is a sweet little badge of recognition, given to aspiring bloggers by their blogging peers.

The Rules

  • Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog so others can find them
  • Share 11 facts about yourself
  • Answer the questions asked by the blogger who nominated you
  • Nominate other bloggers and ask them 11 new questions
  • Notify the nominees about it by commenting on one of their blog posts

Facts about me

  • My favourite sweet thing of all time are Cadbury’s raisin tumbles. I could eat those all day every day
  • I would love to be an author one day (it is my biggest dream)
  • I have over 50 hoodies. I know that is super excessive and quite embarrassing but I love hoodies. They are so warm and comfortable, and go with almost everything so my favourite kind of clothes shopping is shopping for different kinds of hoodies, hence why I have so many of them
  • I have watched Friends the TV show at least 6 times (safe to say I’m a pretty big fan)
  • Besides Disney, I also adore Harry Potter and Marvel
  • I’m studying Education in the UK
  • Christmas is my favourite time of the year!! I start getting ready right after my birthday
  • Tea is my most consumed beverage (yes, even in summer)
  • A hobby that I would hate to give up is writing and cooking/baking
  • I play the saxophone (I used to play in a band in high school)
  • I am addicted to cheesy romances and love reading romantic fiction

Questions from Chasing the Maximum Life

What do you enjoy most about blogging/writing?

I think getting to share my ideas or find a creative way to talk about a topic. I absolutely love being able to write and express myself so the fact that I get to do that in my blog is amazing.

What is your biggest problem/challenge when it comes to blogging?

At the moment, I think my biggest challenge is trying to fit all the networking aspects into my timetable. I still haven’t quite figured out how to stay on top of networking and collaborating as much as I used to now that I’m at uni and I would really like to so any tips you can give me …

How long does it usually take you to finish a blog post?

It depends on the type of post I’m doing. If I know exactly what I want to write about or am doing an award or tag, a post usually only takes me two or three hours maximum. But if I’m writing about something more complicated or I haven’t planned it out as much (or it’s something I’m really passionate about) I can take anywhere between two to five hours working on a post.

If you were to name three goals you want your blog to achieve next year, what would they be?

I would love to reach 1000 followers.

I want to update my blog site to hopefully make it a bit more interesting/different/professional

I would like to try and earn some money off my blog in some way (more than $0.10)

What is the greatest achievement your blog has received? IF you haven’t got any, what would be the achievement you’d want to receive?

Getting nominated for blogging awards, particularly the Beautiful Blogger Award, but also getting shoutouts on the sites of bloggers who I really admire/look up to.

What is your best viewed post? Share it with us by providing a hyperlink and a short description about it.

My best viewed post is “How to have the ultimate girl’s night (quarantine/isolation friendly)”. It’s a post giving suggestions for how to have the ultimate girl’s night in with your girlfriends, as well as some fun, traditional night-in activities. It was based off the girl’s night in I was meant to have with my best friend (which was sadly cancelled due to lockdown) and these are some of the things we love to do when we get together.

If you were to give out three pieces of advice for yourself as a blogger, what would they be?

Don’t undervalue networking with other bloggers. It makes such a difference, but is also a great way to make friends and form connections in the blogosphere.

Have a blogging schedule – trust me when I say it seriously helps keep things together when things get stressful or busy.

Have fun!! Blogging should always be fun, from writing to chatting with others so if you’re not having fun, you need to reevaluate.

Which blog or blogger inspires you the most?

I am always inspired by so many bloggers in different ways, but two bloggers who really inspire me are Anjali from Chasing the Maximum Life and Olivia Lucie Blake – they are both such unbelievable bloggers but more than that they are so kind and supportive, and have been so helpful and supportive to me. They are truly amazing. You should go check them out!

What is your favourite thing about being a blogger?

I think it’s getting to talk to so many different people either through comments on my own blog or on their blogs because I’ve been able to meet so many amazing, interesting people through blogging and I can’t imagine how different my life would be without all those incredible people.

What are your top blogging tips?

Hmmmm … I think they would be the same as the three pieces of advice I would give to myself. But for more blogging tips, be sure to check out my blogging advice series that I’m doing!

What is the most amazing thing you have ever done (besides starting your blog?)

Oooh that’s an interesting question … I think the most amazing thing I’ve done is either getting into the uni I am in and also swimming with wild dolphins that was indescribable.

Questions and nominees

For both of these awards,  I’m going to pass on the same questions that I was asked by Chasing the Maximum Life because I would really love to see your answers to these. I’m also going to nominate lots of people for both awards and then you can either choose one or do both! Also, if I haven’t nominated you but this seems like something you want to take part in, then please consider this an open nomination too! My nominees are:

Pavithra from Small Talks

Introverted Thoughts from Random Specific Thoughts

Millay’s Musings

Ariela on the go

Lose weight with Ang

Sarah from A Writ Much

Phoenix from Life’s Little Rainbows

The Finest Student

Chatswithchels

Thalena

Lana Teramae

Mindbeautysimplicity

Jan on the blog

Okay and there we have it!! Thank you all so so much for reading today’s blog post and for everyone who’s nominated me for these incredible awards (especially Anjali from Chasing the Maximum Life for the two nominations today). If it’s not too much to ask, something happened with my WordPress so all the nominations I have received in the last month are no longer in my saved posts so could you please resend anything in the comments section – I would really appreciate it. I am always so honoured to be nominated for blogging awards so truly thank you! Other than that, that is all I have for you today. Just a reminder, please send any suggestions you have for the blogging advice series in the comments section, and don’t forget about guest posts for Blogmas (could you also let me know in the comments if you are planning to send in a post just so I know to look out for it). Thanks again everyone!!

Lots of Love

  2. Hi Tia! Thank you so much for the nomination, I will gladly take part in it. I have a question though, how did you get those pics for the Liebster and the Mystery Blogger award? I loved reading your responses by the way. I’m terrified of chickens too and Disney is one of my biggest passions in life! We should chat more! 🙂

    1. Of course you are so so welcome!!! Ahh so I got sent the Liebster graphic when I first got nominated for the award and I used the graphic for the mystery blogger award from Chasing the Maximum Life who nominated me 🙈☺️ aww yay I’m glad thank you!! Oh my word really? So happy to meet someone who understands the fear and also I am so with you Disney is magical!! We definitely should 😊

      1. Ah ok got it! I’m not quite there yet in terms of eligibility for the awards then haha. I’m happy to read your blog either way. I’m mostly happy chatting and making new friends with people on WordPress, like you!

I’m terrified of birds overall. I had to do a science project on poultry last Spring and I was working on the slideshow, I needed pictures yeah so I searched up those chicken farms. The image came at me so suddenly that I screamed in the dining area (campus center) haha! I agree, Disney is life!!! I saw you have a Disney tag post, which I’ll check out one day. Which do you prefer Disneyland or Disney World?

Oh my word that sounds so terrifying … birds are so scary I completely get it!! For sure and so glad you agree!! Disney is the best!! Ooh yeah it’s a big post though😂 Oh Disney world for sure – Orlando theme parks are just the best!! You??

      3. Hooray for new friends! 🙂

I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels the same way about birds. I know friends that have pet birds and honestly, I don’t get it, especially with their sharp feet and beak. Oh it’s a long post, ok I’ll set aside time for that. I haven’t been to Disney World since I was five, but I would love to go back one day. I’m a Disneyland gal cause I grew up with that park and Carsland is superb!

How many times have you been to Disney World?

      4. Yesss!!!

I know same it’s so rare so glad to finally find someone who gets it! Haha yeah you might need to. Oh wow maybe if my blog ever makes any money we could do a sponsored trip?? Ahhhh lucky lucky you!! I have been so lucky because I’ve been able to go 4 times and still can’t wait to go back 🙈✨

      5. That’s a great idea! I just updated to premium, so maybe we could split the cost of the trip if we decide to go one day and you can show me all over Disney World!?!?!?! You’ve been to Disneyland four times? I’ve only been there four times as well. Buena Vista Street is open now, but what is California waiting for, what about the rest of DCA or Disneyland even?!?!

      6. Disneyland and Disney World, I miss them so much! Tokyo Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris would be cool. Tokyo Disney would be first for me because of the shopping haha! Where would you want to go?

      7. Really?!?! I didn’t even know they had a Tower of Terror. All I remember from that Let’s Go to Disneyland Paris video is that Alice in Wonderland garden with the castle and giant Cheshire cat.

      8. Wait so you’ve been to Disneyland Paris too, what’s it like over there? Also a Disney World tour is definitely required. I haven’t been there since I was five, so I am clueless of that place lol!

      9. Oh shoot I think I asked you the same question twice, sorry. I asked you in another comment what it’s like in Disneyland Paris. It’s confusing keeping track of all the comments you respond to lol! Yeah I’ve heard Disneyland Paris is small, that’s why they don’t have a Splash Mountain.
