The Liebster Award x 2 !!!

Hello all you lovely, incredible people!! I hope you’re all doing well and having a great week so far. Just once more, I’d like to say thank you to everyone who filled in my blog survey form. I really appreciate the feedback and just so you know I have gone through all of it and if you’re all interested, I’m going to try start a blogging advice series and I’ll try post one blog in that series every week. I’m also going to make plans for a blogmas and I will definitely try up the personal photos and stories (even though I really don’t like myself in pictures but anywho). SO please let me know if you like these ideas in the comments section, and any other suggestions you may have! 

Right now today I’m catching up on two awards that I have been nominated for – the Liebster award!! Getting nominated for an award is like a surprise christmas present out of the blue and it is always such an incredible honour for me so thank you so much Anjali from Chasing the Maximum Life and Happy Panda for nominating me for the Liebster award. (Also a big thank you to everyone else who has nominated me for awards – I really am so grateful and I promise I am getting to those posts soon!). Anjali is just an above and beyond friend – she is supportive, loving and so inspirational and has an absolutely delightful lifestyle blog so if you don’t follow her already, I highly suggest you go check out her blog here. Also, Happy Panda is another fantastic friend and I just love reading their posts – she is so kind and inspiring so be sure to check out her blog here too. Now … onto the questions.

Questions from Chasing the Maximum Life 

How would someone describe your blogging style? 

Hmm I suppose it would be conversational with an upbeat, personal writing style. 

Share something unusual about yourself. 

I never know how to answer these questions … I could go with my standard – that I’m terrified of chickens but maybe another unusual thing about me is I know all the lines and soundtracks to virtually every classic Disney film. 

If you were stranded on a deserted island, which 1 TV or film character would you want with you and why? 

Stitch – he’s so cute but he’s also really handy to have around (he can walk on ceilings, has an extra set of hands and is generally really industrious) so I think he’d be a great companion to have on a deserted island. 

What was an influential song in your life? 

This is Me from the Greatest Showman 

What is the coolest surprise you always wished somebody would prepare for you? 

I think a big surprise birthday party would be so amazing, or a scavenger hunt/expedition to some really romantic setting where there is a picnic set up at the end. Those would be the most incredible surprises in my book. 

What’s your favourite sweet treat? 

ANYTHING WITH CHOCOLATE!!! Nutella and strawberry waffles, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate mousse – are you sensing the theme here? I just adore chocolate. 

If you could invite anyone to dinner, alive or dead, who would you choose and what would you ask them about? 

I think I would choose one of my favourite authors, Marissa Meyer and just talk to her about her books and how she creates such imaginative and captivating stories. 

Describe your dream destination

A tropical island surrounded by turquoise blue waters, white sandy beaches and towering palm trees everywhere. There would be island plants and flowers everywhere, and a little deck chair under a tree where I can sit and read my book all day. 

Would you rather Reverse one decision you make every day or be able to stop time for 10 seconds every day? 

I’d have to go with reversing a decision because as much as it would be handy to stop time, I’m not sure what I’d be able to do with only an extra 10 seconds every day. 

Love or money? 

Love for sure. I’d far rather have love in my life without as much money than have all the money in the world but no one around who I love or who loves me. Success is nothing without someone to share it with.

Your favourite blogger? 

Tough question because I love so many bloggers!!! Every single blogger I know puts so much hard work and effort into their sites and deserve the recognition but I’m going to say Anjali from Chasing the Maximum Life, the same who nominated me for this award because she is truly the most inspirational and supportive blogger I have met and more than that she is just an unbelievably good friend. 

Questions from Happy Panda

If you could wear only one colour for the rest of your life, which would you pick? 

Black. As dark and depressing as it sounds, I know I look good in black and most of my favourite clothes are monochromatic anyway so I wouldn’t mind wearing only black in the future. 

Favourite dessert? 

I can never pick favourites, but at the moment my favourite dessert has to be cinnamon rolls. You know the ones I’m talking about – soft and filled with cinnamon deliciousness and covered in oozing cream cheese icing. It’s making my mouth water just thinking about it.

Which country are you from and if you had to pick a different country to live in, which would you pick? 

I’m from South Africa and I’d actually pick to live in England, where I currently am for university. 

A novel you recommend that everyone should read? 

Oooh this is a tough one … I think ‘Am I normal Yet?’ by Holly Bourne is such a fantastic read because she challenges the associations people have of mental illness and speaks about important mental health and feminist messages on top of a great story. 

Can you cook? If yes, what’s your favourite dish to cook? 

Yes I love cooking and my favourite dish is probably lasagna when I make it with my dad. It’s one of our favourite meals. 

Pick between – travelling with friends or travelling solo or travelling with your partner. 

Travelling with my partner – definitely. 

Do you prefer outdoors or being indoors? 

I think it depends. I like being outdoors and doing things outdoors but generally I think I’m more of an inside cat. 

A goal for 2020 that you’re still hopeful you’ll manage to do? 

Hopefully finish losing the weight I set out to lose. Everything is on track and I really hope I hit my goal by the end of the year. 

If you could only write about one topic, what would you write about? 

Oh wow tough but I think I’d say life advice because that way I can still chat about experiences and hopefully help others through any situations they might be going through too. 

Do you like adventure activities like hikes, rafting etc.? Have you done any? 

Yeah they’re not too bad even though they’re not something on my regular to-do list. I’ve done ziplining, hiking, scuba diving and kayaking. My favourite is kayaking. 

How would you describe your personal fashion style in one word? 

Hmmm …. Not to pinch the example given but comfortable. Hoodies and jeans is my standard outfit and in my mind, comfort always comes before style.

    My dream place is also a tropical island – clear blue water, beautiful white sand and not too many people! I can’t wait to visit Maldives, Seychelles and Bora Bora Islands. 😊
