The Lockdown Tag

Heyyy everyone, I hope you’re all keeping well and staying safe and healthy – also remembering to wash your hands, wear your mask and social distance because being cautious and health-conscious is especially important right now. Today I’m continuing with my awards/tags catch up with the Lockdown Tag (how fitting).

Before I get into the answers though, I need to say thank you to Anjali from Chasing the Maximum Life for tagging me to participate in this! Questions by Anjali from Chasing the Maximum Life

Overall, how are you handling the quarantine?

I think I’m handling it pretty well. Obviously, there are times when I get really frustrated by the situation because I don’t think anyone is finding it ideal, but overall I’d say I’ve adapted myself to this new normal. I get to do a few more leisurely activities than usual, but even with the extra hours at home, I still don’t seem to have enough hours in the day.

Have you violated any of the restrictions? If yes, what rule(s) did you break?

No. I haven’t violated any of the rules or restrictions.

What viral recipes have you tried during the lockdown?

Honestly, I had to google what were the most viral recipes during lockdown because I don’t pay much attention to trends like that. Based on my google search, I can deduce that I haven’t tried any viral recipes, but I have done a lot of baking (you can check out some of the recipes I made here). My favourite recipe that I tried was macaroons, and the closest one to a viral recipe would be my apple/banana health muffins (you can find the recipe here).

What activities have you missed the most during quarantine?

So many things honestly. I’ve missed going out for dinner with my family, going on dates or doing pretty much anything with my boyfriend, book shopping and going to the gym surprisingly (I miss my breakfast smoothie that I reward myself with after a workout).

Do you wear a mask when you leave the house?

Of course! It’s part of my list of checks before I even get in my car – phone, wallet, keys and MASK!

Are you an essential worker? If yes, what is your job title?

No, I’m not. Currently, I’m only doing some light work part-time before I start university, but both my parents are essential workers (they are doctors).

How do you exercise during the lockdown?

Thankfully my parents have always had a strong attitude towards exercise, so we have a treadmill and a stationary bike at home. I’ve been trying to get into running (not sure how successfully I’d rate that but hey I’m doing it so that counts), I’m also cycling and when I’m really not in the mood for cardio I’ll do some HIIT exercises. Not pushups though because I have the upper body strength of a T-rex. I’ve even tried doing some yoga … I look like a bit of clown because I’m not super flexible and have yet to master half the moves, but I’m working on it.

Have you subscribed to any new subscription services since the lockdown started?

I haven’t actually. I think the only new things I’ve subscribed to are to bloggers or the odd new YouTube Channel.

What did/does your daily schedule look like before the pandemic started?

Ummm it wasn’t too different to now (which is quite scary) because I was in between things on my gap year. I still wake up and exercise, but before the pandemic I would usually head off to my part-time job then I would come home and do some blogging/typing and help my dad make dinner (which I still do now). The other part that’s different is I used to go visit my boyfriend quite often, and the two of us would go out, but of course, that’s different now because of the pandemic.

Do you think that the pandemic is getting better or worse?

I think it is getting better because even though numbers are still increasing in certain places, I believe that we have a better handle on how to deal with the situation now as opposed to at the beginning. I also think it’s ‘getting better’ because it’s led to people paying more attention to their health and being forced to make more conscientious decisions.

I pass on the same questions, with these two additional ones

–         What have you learnt/become grateful for during the lockdown?

–         How do you think the world should learn from this pandemic so that things are better in the future?

And there you have it! Once again, thank you so much Anjali from Chasing the Maximum Life for tagging me in this I had a lot of fun thinking about and answering these questions. This pandemic has caused so much upheaval and stress, forced all of us to adapt to an entirely new way of life and even though there have been devastations and many many challenges, I hope that this is also an opportunity to move forward and make things better for the whole world in the future. I hope you all are keeping safe and healthy, and that you aren’t going too stir-crazy in the lockdown.

Lots of Love
